1,300 W AC-DC Semi-Regulated Power Supply

The Vicor Westcor™ MicroPAC™ is a power factor corrected AC-DC power system providing up to 1300 W of continuous power at up to 92% efficiency and 25 Win³ power density in a compact 4 x 1.72 x 7.45 inch package.

Offering semi-regulated output voltages of 12, 24, 36 and 48 VDC via four factory-configurable isolated outputs, the MicroPAC is an efficient solution for many applications, such as small distributed power bus architectures in industrial, automation, military, telecom and renewable energy applications. The MicroPAC is available in fan-cooled and conduction-cooled packages.

Compact, Efficient and Flexible
The small, high-performance VI Chip BCM high-voltage bus converters provide final voltage conversion and isolation to the output. The size and performance benefits of the BCM are key in this power system.

System designers seeking flexibility to partition multiple voltage outputs, rather than use two separate power supplies, can configure MicroPACs with a combination of four high performance VI Chip® BCM® high-voltage bus converters, as single outputs, parallel outputs, or a series output with integrated current sharing. For applications requiring higher power levels, MicroPACs can be configured in arrays with box-to-box current sharing.

Energy Star-compliant MicroPACs offer advanced eco-mode operation settings via which the individual BCMs are powered on only as needed, further enhancing power efficiency over a wide load range. During standby-mode, total power dissipation (TPD) is less than 8 W, which is exceptional for a power system rated up to 1300 W.

Rugged and Reliable for Demanding Environments
MicroPACs operate at full load over a wide temperature range (-40 to +55C) and are ruggedized for harsh environments. Offering an economical alternative to competing MIL-class power systems, MicroPACs meet MIL-STD 810 standards for shock and vibration – up to 7Gs per axis for one hour each, and 40G functional shock – and are therefore well suited for ground vehicle, aircraft and ship transport and usage.

With a high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and a field replaceable fan, MicroPAC is highly practical for a wide range of industrial and defence applications where the environment is demanding, high density is required, and efficiency is critical.

High-Efficiency over a Wide Power Range
"Westcor MicroPAC configurable power systems strike an ideal balance of power density, efficiency and design flexibility, while offering advanced power-saving capabilities that minimize system-level power consumption," said Jeff Lally, Westcor product manager. "Ensuring high efficiency operation over a wide power range with high-caliber ruggedisation, MicroPACs are among the most versatile, cost-effective AC-DC configurable power systems in their class."
