The ESB303 is an inrush current limiter for capacitive loads that can handle high inrush currents, e.g. when operating multiple switching power supplies or LED drivers on one circuit breaker.
The ESB303.LED.200/400 inrush limiter combines 2 devices in one DIN rail device, so that the customer only has to keep one device version for typical building installations in stock. The ESB303 limiter is suitable on the one hand for operation as a 3-channel inrush limiter in 1-phase 230Vac networks and at the same time as a 3-phase limiter in 400Vac networks that have a neutral conductor. The neutral conductor is mandatory for the internal power supply of the ESB303. Operation in 3-phase 200Vac networks with N conductor is also covered. The device can be permanently loaded with 16A per channel. The original inrush currents of the connected loads can be infinitely high.
The ESB303.LED.200/400 was technically designed in such a way that it protects a B13 circuit breaker against high inrush currents and reliably prevents it from tripping. Each channel of the ESB303 is limited individually and independently of the others, so that a voltage drop of e.g. only one channel in a 3-phase network is correctly recorded. A load capacity of 6000uF per channel can be connected to the device. The energy consumption of the device is very low at 1.1W per channel used. The ESB303 allows operation in a 16 2/3 Hz rail network as well as operation in a 400 Hz electrical system of an aircraft. The connections are Weidmueller spring-type terminals up to 6mm2. The device can be operated up to 4000m above sea level. It works from -40°C to + 60°C without derating. The ESB303 is not suitable for inductive loads or as a starting current limiter for motors.
The ESB303 is produced in Camtec’s factory in Southern Germany.
