Please find our comments below regarding our response to COVID-19.
Powerbox has implemented policies and Ppocedures across its operations in accordance with guidelines and mandates issued by the Australian Government.
Our objective is to ensure the well-being of all employees and the continuation of our ability to serve your requirements. The effectiveness of these are being monitored daily and further escalation procedures have been developed for potential deployment. We are grateful that no Powerbox staff have been infected by COVID-19.
We do have a company-wide travel ban in place and we are screening all visitors to Powerbox sites whilst encouraging the practices of social distancing. Further, we are mandating self-isolation for all staff who are potentially exposed to the virus directly, or indirectly through family and close associates.
With a range of many thousands of products, a detailed review of the current and short to medium term position of our suppliers and manufacturers is currently being undertaken.
The good news is that the supply outlook still remains positive. Manufacturing and supply commitments are as usual in nearly all cases from local and overseas suppliers, including those in China who have recovered to manufacturing and dispatching at close to normal capacity.
We are currently monitoring the impact on our European and North American supply chain on a daily basis. So far there has been little impact sourcing products from Belgium, Germany, Spain and the United States. Just this afternoon we have been advised that in New Zealand, all non-essential businesses will be shut down within the next 48 hours for a 4-week period. This forced shutdown will impact lead times from goods produced in New Zealand.
To assist our planning and our ability to serve your requirements we would appreciate visibility of your near-term forecast, and the placement of purchase orders with us where possible.
